Did you wonder why you get a LAN Speed of 10 mbps once you set to have a Smart Bro connection? Well, the reason is they limit the LAN Speed in your NIC device thru the CPE (Antenna) setup during installation. I notice this coz I once wonder why my LAN Speed no matter how I change it to 100 mbps in the LAN Properties Configuration, I still get 10mbps LAN Speed. Now for you newbies out there you might not notice this but try to position your mouse curson over the network icons in your taskbar

. Now pay close attention on how you are going to change 10mbps LAN Speed to 100mbps. Note that the new CPE (smart bro antenna) is converted and assigned with the 10.xxx.xxx.xx series IP addresses and these address can be accessed publicly in your CPE(antenna).
Now pay close attention to details, and let's start:
1.) Click My Network Places
2.) Click on View Network Connections
3.) Right click on the Local Area Connection and Select Properties
4.) Click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) and Click Properties
5.) Tick the radio button Use the following IP address
6.) On the IP address box enter 10.20.30.40
Note: I mention earlier that they are using the 10.xx series
7.) Let the Subnet mask be 255.0.0.0 then Click OK, then OK.
8.) Point to Start -> Run
9.) Type cmd
10.) Type arp -a. You will notice either 1 or 3 IP addresses. You IP is not the 192.168.xxx.xxx, or the 10.0.0.1.
11.) Now open a browser (I.E, Firefox, etc)
12.) In the url, type the IP address shown in the DOS prompt.
Well that's it! You are now able to access your CPE home page. Before you play around the settings be sure you are familiar with the current configuration so its not hard for you to restore it back. Thanks for your time and enjoy!
